ARAU, May 5 - The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) is channeling an allocation totalling RM130,000 to 11 charity homes, including orphanage and old folks homes, in the state.
MAIPs chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor said the allocation was meant to help the management of the charity homes to organise activities for the occupants, especially educational programmes.
“We believe there should be a balance between physical development and spiritual development, which will help the occupants to face life challenges outside the charity homes later.”.
He said this to Bernama after the symbolic presentation of the allocation by the Raja Muda Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail as MAIPs president at the Royal Gallery in Istana Arau here today.
Meanwhile, Mohd Nazim added that MAIPs had also deployed religious teachers, with cooperation from the state’s Islamic Religious Department as well as Mufti Department, for the purpose of teaching religions at charity centres in the state.
